Otolaryngology
Bruce Abkes, MD is originally from Iowa. Dr. Abkes came to East Tennessee State University in Johnson City as an intern in surgery before advancing to his specialty training. He finished his Otolaryngology residency at the University of Iowa and joined Ear, Nose & Throat Associates in 2006. His interests outside medicine include computers, green technologies, design and construction using reclaimed materials, the production of biodiesel, practical scientific experiments, and spending time with his wife and son.
